Solar integration

Solar panels, MPPT controllers, and battery integration sized to your real-world power use, with mounting and wiring that does not become a maintenance problem.

Overview

Solar pays back when it is sized properly.

Bolting a panel to a boat and hoping is not solar integration. Real solar means knowing your daily Ah budget, picking panels that suit the available space and shading, choosing a controller that actually matches the array, and wiring it into a battery system that can use what is generated.

We spec solar from the energy use down. Fixed panels, semi-flex panels, gantry frames, bimini panels, all have a place. The right answer depends on your boat, where you cruise, and how much shade you live with.

Cabling is sized so the controller sees the voltage it needs. Connections are protected against the marine environment. Monitoring is included so you can actually see what the panels are producing, not just hope.

What's included

What a solar integration includes.

  • Daily Ah budget agreed with you to size the array
  • Panel selection: rigid, semi-flex, or hybrid, sited to minimise shading
  • Mounting: gantry, rail, deck, or bimini, with proper waterproofing
  • MPPT controller sized for the array and the bank, not undersized
  • Cable runs in correct gauge, fused at both ends, marine-grade glands
  • Integration with existing charging: alternator, shore, and generator
  • Battery monitor calibrated so you can read what is going in and out
  • Commissioning and a brief on what the readings mean

Process

How a solar install runs.

  1. Energy audit

What does your boat actually use in a day. Without this, solar is guesswork.

  2. Design and quote

Array, controller, and integration spec with itemised costs and trade-offs.

  3. Install

Tidy mounting, clean cable runs, and connections that survive the marine environment.

  4. Commission

Controller settings dialled to the bank chemistry, monitor calibrated, and a quick walkthrough.

  • City & Guilds qualified

Properly trained marine engineering, not handyman improvisation.

  • Mobile to your mooring

Work happens at your boat wherever possible, saving time and hassle.

  • Breakdown callouts

Stuck on the water? Get in touch and a callout can be arranged.

  • Fully insured

Public liability cover in place for every job, on every boat.
